We went over to a friends house for a big pot luck lunch, but mostly, we spent our time unpacking boxes.
LOTS of boxes! It was chaos!
Here is our kitchen after they delivered the boxes on Wednesday (the day before Thanksgiving). You better believe I was VERY thankful that everything finally arrived and for the most part was ok. Every room in our house looked like this!
Our stuff has been in storage since July, long story, but I'm just happy to have my things back.
We're still unpacking but for the most part we've got the important stuff done. You don't realize how much stuff you have until you have to unpack it all.
I'm ready to get out my menorah and tree (we celebrate both) and get this holiday season rolling!!!
I just wanted to post a little post to let everyone know we have arrived safe and sound and are enjoying it here. (And a few pics of course!)
We are currently staying in a cute little German hotel in the village of Hohenecken. Everyone we have met has been so nice. I love the people that Rich works with already. They have all been so helpful and sweet!

Eating schnitzel!
Looking down on the village we are staying in.
Our first family shot at the German castle ruins in Hohenecken. Many more to come in the next 3 years!
We are currently on the hunt for the prefect house for our family. We are also waiting to take our driving test so we can quit bumming rides and get our own car. My car won't arrive here for probably another month.
I have some cute posts coming up (while we are busy house hunting) Until then, wish us luck, and to my close family and friends, I'll be updating my Facebook more often than my blog until we are more settled!
I moved us out of our house in Omaha, Nebraska and to my Momma's in Savannah, Georgia.
Goodbye Omaha!
Many of you know we are an Air Force family. My husband has been in Texas for training the past 3 1/2 months (and has 2 more months left there) We are moving to Germany in September. (SO EXCITED!) We own a home in Omaha and the easiest thing to do was to move here with my mom while my husband finishes his training. This way we can get our house rented before we move to Germany.
Thankfully my mom came and helped me with the move. My mom flew to Omaha on Wednesday afternoon and helped me get everything ready for the movers to come. Friday all my stuff got packed up, Saturday they loaded it all on trucks, Saturday night and Sunday morning we cleaned the house from top to bottom (including cleaning all the carpets) and tied up all the loose ends in Omaha. Sunday we left Omaha around 11am and drove for about 10 hours.
Monday we drove another 12 hours and finally arrived at my Mom's around 9:15 pm.
We had 2 dogs, a cat and a 20 month old in the car with us. Needless to say we stopped a lot and listened to a LOT of Justin Bieber!
(Ariana with her Justin Bieber CD we bought her for the trip. Her favorite is "Baby". We seriously played it like 50 times, I swear!)
(The one time we actually got out of the car at a rest area to eat. The whole time we ate in the car and kept on driving.)
***If I can figure out how to get videos off my phone on onto the computer I have the funniest thing I think I've ever seen in my life. Anybody have any suggestions on how to get them onto my computer?? When I email them, it won't let me open them??
In the end, a toy from a kids meal provided entertainment for us and the truck drivers we passed!! :)
(Excuse my crazy hair. I was a hot mess and the shower at the hotel was the worst. I'm in serious need of a salon FOR REAL but just didn't have the time before the move.)
I'm glad to finally have gotten here safe and sound. I feel like it will take me a few days to recover and get settled in.
I just thought I would post a random update on my lovely life. I have a few things that don't need an entire blog to themselves...they have to share!
First, I was doing some errands the other day and BAAAM this wiener car pulls up beside me in a parking lot! It was so funny I had to take a picture! I couldn't believe it!
Hahaha!
I've had this baby doll, Sissy, since I was 2 years old. She's been stored in the top of my closet. I was cleaning out the closet the other day and got her down and let Ariana play with her. I thought it would just be for the day and then I could put her away again. WRONG! Ariana literally won't put her down. She carries her around all day and takes her in the car and in the bathroom when I give her a bath and everything. It's the cutest thing, to see her with this doll that I loved so much! Sissy is getting passed down!
Here is Ariana at nap the other day. Easter bunny, Snow White, bear, bunny, Sissy, seahorse....and oh yea Ariana! :)
I've been in the mood for glitter nailpolish lately. Usually I don't choose glitter but I find myself picking them up in the stores. Here are some of my new current favorites.
Pure Ice - "Cheatin", "Don't Cloud Me", & "Rockstar Pink"
I'm also loving....
"Play Fair"
I've made you wait long enough! COLORWEEKGIVEAWAYWINNER!!!!!

I have to admit, when I first heard the news it came as a shock. My husband called me and told me he had good news and bad news.
The bad news: Our paperwork for Offutt AFB (where we are now) as our base of preference didn't go sent through. Since my husband is training to a new career field, he knew there was a possiblity we could be stationed somewhere else, but we were hoping to stay here and most times if you request to stay, if they can the Air Force will try to let you. Saves them money and having to move you. Unfortunately, someone didn't do their job and our paperwork to stay here was never processed.
The good news: We got notification we are getting assigned to Germany (Ramstein)! A real shock! After the initial annoyance at the fact that we are moving and having to sell or rent our house, I got really excited! We were lucky enough to get stationed at RAF Mildenhall (England) in 2004 for 3 years. That was our first base, we moved there as newlyweds. We loved living overseas and we both had agreed that if the chance came up again we would love to move back to an overseas base. We just didn't think it would happen this soon!
I'm slightly stressed because not only is my husband away but now I have to deal with what to do with the house. Sell or rent? Now is not really the time to sell. The market is horrible and we don't want to loose money. I also have to get everything ready for moving overseas, a big overtaking. We have lots of stuff that we are looking into getting rid of so we are downsized some. European housing is MUCH smaller than American housing. We've already been told most German houses don't have closets....great...
We are only allowed to take 2 pets, and 1 car and as always we have a weigh limit on our stuff we can take.
What do we do with all our stored baby furniture etc that we have left from Ariana that we wanted to use for our second baby? I hate to get rid of it but I don't know that in our new house we will have space to store it.
But, we are VERY excited to be moving to Germany! Rich is already learning German, gotta love Rosetta Stone! I'm waiting on my CD to come in the mail so I can start learning too! I love living abroad and learning new cultures. I'm excited to get to travel again. When we lived in England we visited 10 countries (Belgium, France, Italy, Greece, Spain, Germany, Malta, Austria, Ireland, and Scotland). I'm so excited for all our new adventures and getting to share all this with Ariana!
We are moving in September! SO much to do before then!
