Savings for Santa

I know that it's only September. And Christmas is still a few months away. But that's not how the mind of a 2 1/2 year old works.

Ariana has a piggy bank in her room. Since in October (11 months ago) anytime she finds some change, she takes it and puts it in her piggy. Every time she adds to it, she loves to shake it and hear how much she has in there.

Now, don't go robbing us ::giggle:: because I'm about to reveal how much cash is in Ariana's room.

As of today, she's saved $37.89 + 5.45 Euro!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

I asked her what she was saving her money for.
This is that conversation.

Me: Wow, you have a lot of money. What are you saving it for?

Ariana: (very matter of factly) Santa

Me: Oh really, Santa? You're going to give Santa your money?

Ariana: No, it's for presents.

Me: You're going to buy presents with it? That's a good idea. What kind of presents are you going to buy?

Ariana: TOYS!!

Me: What kind of toys?

Ariana: (without missing a beat) A robot.       I think Santa would like that.

Kids and their imaginations.
You can't beat them!

  1. gorgeous! My little man is 2 and he also collects "pennies" from around the house and shakes the "penny box". So far we haven't got around to what we might do with them when he has a lot!
