Kaiserslautern Zoo

Kaiserslautern is the biggest city nearby to where we live. It's about a 30 minute drive away. The other weekend we took a little daytrip to the local zoo there. It was our first time there so we weren't sure what to expect.

Be sure to have enough cash on you because even the ticket desk doesn't take debit/credit cards, cash only.

They were having a special fund raising day with a bouncy slide, donkeys to pet and a few food stalls set up for snacks.

There was a puppet show (in German of course) that we couldn't understand and a bird show but we didn't stay for that part. We just enjoyed seeing the birds and went on to see other animals.

These cute little squirrel monkeys were entertaining eating their grapes and playing with each other.

The petting zoo part was Ariana's favorite. Feeding the mama and baby goats. Yes, she's wearing a crown!

There was also honey bees, a tiger, some camels, llamas, and some zebras.

To me it was over priced (16 Euro, about 20 dollars) for us to spend 2 hours in the zoo seeing the animals and eating lunch (which of course was more).

Seems kind of weird that they would have a cigarette vending machine in the middle of the zoo but hey we are in Europe!
