I decided to take some pictures of our Hanukkah "bush" aka (a 4 foot tall treet). This was our first tree that we got when we got married (5 years ago). Last year we bought a big tree since it was our first Christmas in the US (since moving back from England) and we were having family coming to visit for Christmas. I love our little Hanukkah bush though. It's sitting in our basement aka "the man room" ha! His man room is pretty much our family room/playroom/craft room! My craft table and stuff used to be in the guest room but I had to move it out and just haven't moved it back in there yet. Anyways, I get to see this pretty tree a lot since this is where we spend a lot of time during the day.
We decorated it in blue and silver colors and put all the presents from Hanukkah Harry under it (hehe)
I even found these cute silver stars a few years ago (ok maybe more like 5) that are shaped like Star of Davids. I love them and I wish I could find more to send to my Jewish friends who have trees.
I'm not sure how I did this, but it was kinda cool looking.
Rich had to work tonight, so it was just me and Ariana lighting the first candle.
Ariana got to open her first Hanukkah gift (she has 8 for the 8 nights).
It was a Hanukkah plate, just perfect for her first gift. She ate her dinner on it too!
All in all we had a great first night of Hanukkah. We are doing our own little celebration tomorrow night and I'm making traditional Hanukkah food YUM! We're also getting together with friends on Sunday to celebrate, should be a fun weekend and of course I'm going to try to squeeze in some crafts!
Oh yea and I thought this pic I snagged of her was HILARIOUS when she accidentally dropped her plate on the floor! Thank goodness for plastic! :)
Hope everyone is having a great Friday night and Happy Hanukkah!! :)
