Hi and welcome to my blog No Wooden Spoons! I know you're wondering what the blog name means and I'll get to that in a bit, but first here are a few things you might want to know about me...

Who are you?

+ I'm Cat and I'm a full time mommy to 4 year old Ariana, pregnant with our 2nd,  and loving wife of 8 years to Richard. My family is my life so be prepared to read a lot about them.

+ I feature and sell some of my favorite photography in my online photography gallery.

+ We're a military family and have lived in Germany for the past 2.5 years. Find out what life in Germany is like on this funny post.

+ Most of the time I'm pretty upbeat and fun but there are times when I have some more serious things to talk about.

+ If you want to get to know me better you can read some of my Sunday Confessions,  our love story featured QandA session I had,  find out where I'm really from, or cheer me own as I try to accomplish my monthly goals. I take time to be thankful for the little things in my Thankful Thursday posts. You can read more about me in my About Me page. I'm also an animal lover who became the surprise owners of over 40 baby snails!

What kinds of things do you blog about?

(project 64scavenger hunt sunday, and nature photography are good places to start)
(we love to travel the world)
(day trips and fun outings)

Where did the name No Wooden Spoons come from?

This is probably the most common question I get. Haha!! I started this blog, No Wooden Spoons, in the fall of 2009 as just a fun way to document life. Well I've always been a journal-er in some way. I've always had either a real journal or a website (when we were stationed in England to keep in touch with family) And then a livejournal and now blogger. When I started my current blog I was trying to think of something creative and unique to call it. I have this real aversion to wooden spoons. I HATE the way the feel and washing them is even worse. it's like fingernails on a chalkboard...ekkk!! One day "No Wooden Spoons" just popped into my head and it stuck! It's quirky like me. Even though it doesn't have anything to do with being a mom, military wife, photographer, crafter or painter. It's just me.

 Thanks for stopping by!

Hugs and smiles!
