Pumpkin Spice Latte DIY

A yummy fall recipe!

There is no Starbucks anywhere close to me. (A shame, I know!)

So, since one of my favorite fall treats is a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks, naturally I complained on Facebook. My sweet Aunt came to my rescue and sent me a recipe of how to make your own at home. I was so excited to try this out, and I knew I HAD to share this with everyone! I used the recipe my Aunt sent me as a base recipe and after a  few tweaks here and there, I'm pretty satisfied with how it turned out.

As requested, here is the recipe I came up with!

Pumpkin Spice Latte (2-3 servings)

1 cup milk
3 tablespoons canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
6 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
strong coffee
whipped creme

1. Make some coffee (I made mine pretty strong).
2. While your coffee is brewing, mix together the milk, pumpkin and sugar in a saucepan over medium-high heat until steaming.
3. Remove from heat and add in the vanilla and pumpkin spice.
4. Whisk briskly for a few minutes until mixed well and foamy.
5. Fill your cup, half milk mixture and half coffee. (I like mine 1:1 coffee, milk ratio)
6. Top with whipped creme and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice and viola!

This is oh-so-perfect for those cozy chilly Autumn days. I'm sipping on one right now! Heavenly!

Let me know if you try this recipe!!!
