This week the color was blue and I never even had the chance to color with the blue crayon so I hope I got the color right since I was trying to match it online.
We went to Berlin this weekend and I got to see what was remaining of the Berlin Wall. It's hard to imagine that this wall existed during my lifetime. It's hard to imagine the life that people lived on the other side of the Berlin Wall. It's hard to imagine that over 136 people died trying to cross the wall.
So, when I saw this painting by Kani Alavi at the East Side Gallery, an open air gallery of paintings along a portion of the wall, I knew it should be my photo for the color this week.
Just looking at it you can feel the hugeness and urgency of the waves of people flooding, like rushing water, thorough the finally opened wall.
