I have to say, I'm really love this little feature each week. It's nothing super special but just reminds me to take the time and be thankful for the little (and big) things in my life.
I want to say how thankful I am for all your sweet words in my deployment post. I try not to be negative or let it get to me, but I have my days (don't we all). Your kind thoughts let me know that you support me, I'm not alone, and (in some cases) you've been there. Thank you for that! It's nice to know I can be honest with you all about my feelings and not always pretend that this is easy. Oh, and because I'm not sure it came through on my post because I just winged it and went with how I was feeling, I am SO happy I'm over month down, or as my husband pointed out the other day 17% done, what what! I always feel like those first few weeks are the worst.
So now that I've gotten that off my chest, here is looking back at this week, and what I'm thankful for...
Friday I was thankful that I got to go see a movie without Ariana. A couple free hours of daycare once a month is great for the parents with deployed spouses. I took advantage of mine this month and went to see Crazy, Stupid, Love with a friend while Ariana got to play!
Saturday I was thankful for this delicious French eclair. A quick day trip across the border into France to get this delicious-ness! Sorry it's not the best picture my mouth was watering to take a bite ha!
Sunday I was thankful for the chance to Skype with him on our anniversary! Seven years since our wedding. You may be a long time reader and be thinking huh? Didn't she have an anniversary in July, I'm confused. Well you would be right, I did have an anniversary in July. I guess I need to explain that one huh? Ok, mental note for a post for next week.

Monday I was thankful for this pretty girly nail polish. Neo Whimsical-Essie
Tuesday I was thankful for The Hunger Games trilogy. Last week I mentioned I was thankful for the first book because I loved it so much. Well, Tuesday I finished the third one! I was all READ, READ, READ all week! Now I need more good book suggestions!
Wednesday I was thankful for lots of willing ears to listen when I'm having a bad day and need to vent. Thanks friends.
Today I am thankful for friendly people! This morning when I was driving around and through German villages everyone that I waved and smiled at, smile and either waved/nodded back! That totally made my morning because the German's aren't known for their warm and fuzzy exteriors. It made me smile this morning!
I am an avid reader and also enjoyed The Hunger Games trilogy...can you imagine how violent the movie will be?! I want to recommend Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. Book number 18 is almost ready for release. The first book is One for the Money. Each book has a number in the title (easy to keep them in order!). The characters are great. My son wouldn't let take them to read in waiting rooms because I would start laughing out loud and embarrass him! You should be able to find these in paperback. I'm also a fan of Stuart Wood's books featuring the Stone Barrington character and you can't go wrong with anything by James Patterson. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteYES! Thanks for the book tips, I love that there are 18 books in the Stephanie Plum series so when I fall in love I'll have lots to read! As for The Hunger Games, I can't even imagine how they'll do some scenes! They better not disappoint!
ReplyDeleteYay movie time! I wanted to see that!
ReplyDeleteThat eclair looks sinful! but worth it!
SO GLAD that you loved the hunger games! I will have to ask you about it in my next letter to you!
