Shoot and Edit - "Green" EDIT

Hello, hello!!

I'm back with my edits of my SOOC shots I posted on Monday. This is my first time doing Shoot and Edit with Jill and Ashley and while I sometimes I've been known to tweak my photos, I'm still new to editing. I'm using Corel Paint Shop Pro X2 that came on my husband's computer. Now, onto the photos.

Here is my first SOOC shot

And now the edited version.

What I did: I added a little contrast and then I copied the background and added it as another layer. This was my first time doing layers, but I saw Ashley talking about it so I thought I would try it out. I added soft light and opacity at about 60% to the top layer.

Before and after:

My second SOOC shot.

The edited version.

What I did: I increased the "blackness" of the photo to make that little buggy pop out more. I increased the saturation and shadows a tad.

Before and After:

Another reminder of my SOOC shot

The edited version.

What I did: I increased the brightness (17), decreased the shadows (-50), increased the highlighted areas (20), saturation increased (20), black increased (30). Then I copied the background and "overlayed" it at 80%.

Before and after:

Another SOOC shot (I used too many pictures for this project!)

The edited version.

What I did: Increased saturation (17) Increased black (25). Copied layer and multiplied it by 75%.

Before and After:

The rock wall SOOC

The edited version.

What I did: Auto fix, increased saturation, copied background and used soft light at 100%.

Before and after:

My SOOC shot of the water

The edited version.

What I did:  I increased the saturation and added some green hue. I increased the shadows and highlights to add some contrast. This really made the moss pop, and in all actuality this is more realistic to what it looked like when I took the picture. It was super green!

Before and after:

And finally for my last SOOC

The edited version

What I did: I basically just brightened up this whole picture. Yes I'm pretty much THAT pale in real life. The dark hair just makes it stand out more.
Before and After:

Whew, that was a lot of editing. I won't be doing as many photos next time, that's for sure! Either I have a really good imagination or I swear all the shoots were really that green to my eye. It's so lush back on that path, I wish I could take you all for a walk with me next time!

So what was your favorite shot? Which shot do you think went from good to WOW?

I've linked up with Ashley today so go check out all the fabulous edited photos and be sure to see how Ashley turned dead brown grass into green grass! So cool!!! Next week's challenge is up? Hmmm...

  4. I think you really captured the lushness of the green with your edits. I think I really like how the bug now does pop out, even if in general I'm not too fond of pictures of bugs!

  8. I love the daffodil and the mossy stones especially. I'm at least that pale in real life too. :)

  9. Your comment about being pale made me LOL. I completely understand, my skin is sometimes blinding in the sun. I really love all of your edits! Especially... the one with your feet and the moss covered stones...the lone daffodil, the colors are so fresh in the edit... and the moss covered stone wall. So neat! Great edits!! :)
