Mustache March for Littles!

Teacher Appreciation Gift ($10, 10 mins)

I whipped these teacher appreciation gifts up in no time at all. I purchased clear plastic drink cups and skittles and viola!

Each cup took about 1.5 (14 oz) bag of skittles. And it only took about 10 minutes to sort the skittles by color. I printed out a cute tag to put on the straw to finish them off. We have 2 preschool teachers, a gymnastics teacher and a ballet teacher to give gifts too so I knew I didn't want to go overboard or have something that would take a lot of time and money. I'm sure you can relate. 

I'm sure you can design your own paper tags but if you're in a rush or creatively challenged feel free to use this free printable.

 I resized mine to 40% on my print preview and printed 2 on each page then I just trimmed along the black lines and made a slit for the straw.

Weekend Walk

This past weekend it was a nice sunny day. Something that's rare around these parts. Since it was so sunny and beautiful we decided we would go for a walk and we knew there was a walking trail by Ariana's preschool. 

What started off as a walk in the woods (so we thought) quickly became an actual recreational park with a playground, lake, and restaurant. Apparently we walked from Makenbach village to Ramstein village and stumbled upon a fun area for future picnics and day outings!

We saw wild ducks, turtles and even some tadpoles and fish in the lake. Of course all the flowers are in bloom now and it was great to get out and have some quality family time in the sunshine.

BOY or GIRL? A look at old wives tales.

When it comes to pregnancy everyone wants to guess what you are having. I have so much fun playing around with old wives tales and seeing the boy and girl gender results. Here is my list of old wives tales I did for this pregnancy and what they revealed.

Chinese Calendar - GIRL

Mayan Calendar - GIRL

Key theory- BOY

Baking Soda test - BOY, GIRL. I did this twice and it came out different each time.

Ring test - BOY

Cravings theory - BOY, GIRL

Skin theory- BOY

Morning Sickness theory - BOY

Dad's Weight theory - BOY

Baby's heart rate theory - GIRL

Spit in water test - GIRL

In case you aren't familiar with some of the test, here is what they are:

Baking Soda (this was new to me, you pour your pee on baking soda if it fizzes it's a boy, if not it's a girl)

Ring Test (hang your wedding ring over your belly, if it goes in a circle it's a girl, straight line it's a boy)

Key test (whether you pick up a key with the round part or the pointy part) 

Cravings, if it's salty or sour it's a boy, sweet it's a girl.

If your skin is the same or better it's a boy. If it's worse it's a girl.

If you have bad morning sickness it's a girl, if not it's a boy.

If Dad is gaining weight along with you it's a girl, if not it's a boy.

If the babies heart rate is over 140 bpm it's a girl, if it's lower it's a boy.

If you spit in water and it floats it's a girl, if it sinks it's a boy.

Ha! I just realized it's 7 for boy and 6 for girl. So it just proves how much weight you can put into these tests, but they are still fun to do.

When I polled our friends on my personal facebook, the majority of guesses was for another girl.

Das Praehistorium

Over the winter break we went to visit Das Praehistorium about 40 minutes away here in Germany. It was a very impressive museum and even though everything was in German of course, they offered headsets in English. There were lots of robotic dinosaurs and information as well as fossils. Ariana loves dinosaurs and even though most of it was over her head, she still really enjoyed the outing.

 The giant puzzle was a hit since we like doing puzzles.

The flood room was my favorite. There was calm and peaceful and then a storm started building and their was lightening and mist in the air and then suddenly water comes pouring down the valley.

Ariana wasn't much of a fan of the T-rex eating another dinosaur but in general she loved the robotic dinosaurs, they were pretty lifelike and did a lot of moving, breathing, and noises. 

They also had a movie about evolution and a 3-d movie about dinosaurs. We thought it was all put together very well.

Makeup Makeover

My friend Sabrina (Shiny Happy Pretty) is practicing to become a freelance makeup artist. She came over last Friday to play around with makeup while our kids played play dough.

I'm being pretty brave today posting this "before and after" split image of my makeover.

The left is freshly scrubbed, broken out, zero makeup face. The right is Sabrina's masterpiece.

Sabrina has so much fun makeup. It puts my little teeny bag of makeup to shame. She went with a pop of purple to bring out my green eyes. And Armani mascara! WHAT?!

Goodbye Lola

I'm back with some more Lola pictures I've taken over the recent days!

I'm glad she's a well behaved elf and we've enjoyed having her visit our home this year.

 She loved the Gingerbread house we made. I think she thought it was just for her.

 She brought Ariana a new Christmas book.

 One morning we found her hiding in our Santa countdown calendar.

Lola got into our homemade cookies our friends made for us! She was nibbling on a christmas tree cookie one day.

Lola was found covered in bows and hanging out among the presents one morning.

 Lola had a movie night. We found her watching Elf and sipping on some syrup! Ariana thought that was funny but told her that egg nog would have been better!

 Lola was excited to announce there was only 2 days left until Christmas. She was sitting in the bowl of cotton balls we used to add to Santa's beard and count down the days.

And finally it's Christmas Eve today. This morning we found that she brought Ariana some goodies and a sweet note saying how much she enjoyed being here and that she was going back to the North Pole, she'll be back next year! Tonight Santa comes!!!!!
