Christmas Creations

Here is a peek into some of the things we've been creating for Christmas. Crafts, cookies and more!

 We saw some similar reindeer cookies on pinterest and made these for Ariana's school bake sale.

We counted down the days until Christmas by filling in Santa's beard with cotton balls.

 We melted plastic beads and made a pretty "stained glass" looking heart ornament.

 We painted her hands and made Christmas mittens. She did all the cutting herself and glued cotton balls on the  cuff to finish them.

 We made oranges with cloves and gingerbread men and trees. She calls these "gingers" it's pretty darn funny!
I made a wreath to put on our table. We dried orange slices, and attached fake apples, cinnamon, raffia and gold stars. A yummy yankee candle goes in the middle.

We've made other ornaments, cookies, bread and other goodies but I didn't take photos of them. It's been a fun holiday season though.

Thankful Thursday {7}

Friday I was thankful for the 0.45% of our population who have served in the global war on terror. Yea, that's not really a big number when you compare it to the 11.5% who served in WW2, and the 4.30 who served in Vietnam. To read the story that became a shirt, go here. A friend of mine posted it on Facebook.

Saturday I was thankful for free calling to the States. How else would I have a 3 hour 41 minute phone conversation with my mom! I think it was a new record!

Sunday I was thankful for internet. I was able to make a video of Ariana scooping out the "gross nasty stuff" from the inside of our pumpkin when we were carving it, and post it that night for my husband to watch when he had a chance.

Monday I was thankful for Halloween. My favorite holiday. And how awesome Ariana is! She wanted to be Elphaba from Wicked for Halloween! I'm raising that girl right.

Tuesday I was thankful that it was November. It means the beginning of another month, another month closer to him coming home.

Wednesday I was thankful for cookies. Ariana and I made a big batch of our favorite cookies. We kept some for us and shipped some to Daddy!

Today I was thankful for my washer and dryer. I did a lot of laundry today and if I had to haul all that down to a laundromat I might have just cried. I'm glad we have those in our house, we know some people that don't.

What have you been thankful for lately?
